This calculator computes (in SI metric units) the temperature change of a mass due to a heat gain or loss and vice-versa. The user inputs either heat energy [Q] or temperature change [deltaT], and the program calculates the other.

  • You MUST enter 0 (that is, zero) for either Q or T (the one that is unknown).
  • T change in degrees C or K.
  • Q in kilojoules (kJ)
  • Specific heat in kJ/Kg/K.
  • Mass in kg.
  • Note: kJ = Watts * seconds / 1000.
  • This calculation assumes that no other form of energy is added to or extracted from the mass..... only heat (Q).
